Our Northwood and Rickmansworth practices offer some of the most sophisticated testing facilities currently available. This allows us to provide a complete range of eye tests from the traditional sight test to the extremely detailed 3D imaging for your eyes. We’ve invested heavily in technology: our OCT (optical coherence tomography) scanner produces extremely detailed cross-section images of your retina. A non-invasive test, it measures and maps the retina, helping us with early diagnosis and treatment advice for glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. For contact lenses, we’ve been pioneering Ortho-K, a revolutionary technique which uses specially designed contact lenses to gently reshape the eye’s curvature to improve vision. With Ortho-K, therapeutic contact lenses are worn overnight, which gradually reshape the eye whilst you’re asleep. In the morning, your vision is clearer and sharper so you don’t need daytime glasses or contact lenses. To make sure your spectacle lenses fit you perfectly, we’ve invested in the latest Zeiss iTerminal. Once you’ve chosen your frames, we use iTerminal to take the fitting measurements to an accuracy of 0.1mm. Using this, we can tailor-make lenses to ensure perfect vision. Whilst technology is vital, it is only as effective as the people using it. Everyone at Lamertons takes part in ongoing training and development to make sure they can always offer you the service and information you need. Our friendly, professional service is suitable for everyone over the age of 4. We’re available six days a week from 9.00am until 5.45pm (5.30pm on Saturdays). We always have a qualified and experienced dispensing optician available at both locations to help you.
