Friday 23rd August sees a family bat walk take place around Stocker’s Lake Nature Reserve as part of International Bat Night 2013.
Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust have organised for special bat detectors to be available so that you can come and listen for bats and other nocturnal wildlife.
Approx 8pm-10pm.

The Chorleywood Parish Council Village Day takes place this Saturday 13th July from 12-4pm on the beautiful Chorleywood Common.
Some of the attractions on offer this year include:

Tent Pitching Contest
Tug of War
Stalls include local produce, jewellery, cakes and gifts and there will be many activities and attractions for all to enjoy such as raffles, face painting and fair rides. Local Police will also be on hand to mark bikes for security purposes.
Admission to this wonderful day is completely free!
Saturday 13th July sees the hotly anticipated craft fair at 9 Lives Furniture.
9 Lives Furniture was set up in 2003 as a registered charity. They restore donated furniture and household items and then add them to their impressive showroom. This helps prevent wastage but the benefits delve much further than this. 9Lives Furniture helps people create a safe and warm home environment and also offers training for those recovering from mental health or those with disabilities.
The craft fair is open from 10-3, allowing the public to explore the showroom and support what is an incredibly giving charity.

At a fundamental level the word yoga means to yoke, like the white and yellow of an egg. They are distinct parts and yet they come as one. In the same token it means union or coming together.
We encounter many paradoxes in yoga which we’re asked to wrap our heads around. Let me explain it this way: when I do a class or workshop or something with my chums we’ll talk about it afterwards. It’s what we do, we’re yoga dorks, it comes with the territory. And what do we find? That everyone had a different experience. And at the same time, everything was the same.
So how can yoga be something which connects us and had the same time is individual and unique as every person on the planet?
When we take the principals of yoga as our template for self discovery it meets us exactly where we are in this moment. The foundations give us a solid platform from which to understand more. When we understand more, what happens we become even more ourselves and allow for everyone around us to also be their best selves. That’s what keeps us coming back, that’s what unites us in the practice.
